Is there such a thing of twittering or tweeting too much? I definitely think so. I’ve been noticing a problem or issue every time I check my twitter stream; I tend to see the same face (profile pictures) of certain individuals flooding the page. It’s only really an issue when I see 6 tweets back to back to back. It’s like my pet peeve. Why? Because I want variety. I just don’t want to see one person’s point of view (all the time). I want a variety of tweets each time I check my twitter stream. Variety is a good thing!
Would you not agree?
It’s a fact – If you talk a lot and often, you will soon begin to annoy someone. That’s just reality. Like Charlie Brown’s mom (wamp, wamp, wamp wamp), even the most important things will begin to fade on by.
Have you ever worked with someone that just talked all the time? They never listen, they just talk talk talk. Well, those people tend to get blocked out and not taken so seriously even when they have a great idea to discuss.
Don’t be that person!
I recently followed someone on twitter that was very insightful in the social media marketing space. I actually love reading his blog posts, I like his thought process and I love gaining knowledge and internet marketing wisdom from this person. But soon after I chose to follow him, my twitter stream was consistently flooded with only his tweets, and I began to miss tweets from other important people and businesses that I wanted to connect with. It became a problem.
Like every relationship that moves to fast in the beginning, I needed my space. So I had to do it – I unfollowed him! Yes, it had to be done. I still continue to subscribe to his blog, though. This is great, I get his expert opinion ever few days or so – it’s perfect.
So in conclusion, don’t twitter so much! (BIG HAPPY FACE GOES HERE!) Ok, maybe I should rephrase this,… if you plan to twitter a lot, don’t twitter six times in a row, back to back to back to back to back to back. Especially if you’re using twitter for business purposes. Try to twitter maybe just a few times a day, and spread it out evenly. I believe this is more effective and keeps people on their toes, awaiting your next productive tweet. Don’t become that annoying person that just tweets about everything and anything. Because soon, you will just be blocked out as that person that just tweets about anything and everything.
Be productive with your tweets and make them count. You will be heard more loudly, clearly and effectively.

How great.. I tweeted about this very subject last night. I finally “unfollowed” a guy today that probably was tweeting every 5 minutes. I don’t want to hear from my kids that much, much less someone that I don’t know.
Hilarious. Totally agree. I’m glad I’m not the only one who notices this.
