Friday Favorite – Snowbird, Sleek Visual Design, UI/UX
March 1st, 2013 by Mike Locke  |  10 Comments »

This week’s favorite website goes to Snowbird for its sleek visual design and fresh UI/UX. This look (the flat, vectorized, no texture, no drop shadows look) is one of my favorites. When executed well, this look really gives off a fresh clean feeling. Nice typography combined with beautiful iconography and sleek interaction transitions makes this site a beauty. Credit for this design goes to Rally Interactive.

    Thanks Mike,
a cool site, I like it.
A clean layout with some nice and discreet hover effects.
I think the design of the flat icons is very popular at the moment.

The interactivity and animations on this website are real good, they keep a visitor longer and makes their navigation better. the overall use of good typography, icons and design is great

Slick UI and even better approach to the interactions. Good to see that the “less is more” ideology can still yield great results. Great selection Mike.

    Hi Michael,
Excellent design for that website. Very good trick to make the ‘loading’ icon one with their logo.

However, I don’t see the point in hiding horizontal scrollbars when the window is resized if their website is not responsive.

Oh also, I am on ‘1152×864’ resolution at work. When scrolling through this post I realised that 11 and 98 circles in the second screenshot made a nice visual illusion vertically because they looked like those continuous something somethings – don’t know the exact term. I confirmed by placing my thumb on the 11 and when scrolled once down the 98 came in the exact position.

    Is that just pure co-incidence?
