Tools for Creating Contact Forms for Your Website

In this video I go over a few tools you can use to create web forms on your website, Relevant Tools and EmailMeForm. Personally, I’ve been using Relevant Tools for quite some time now (10 years), so I can vouch for them. But EmailMeForm I hear is pretty good as well.

In regards to how a form should be designed, I would recommend downloading and going through a presentation by Luke Wroblewski called Web Form Design Best Practices:

Download the full presentation here:
http://www.lukew.com/resources/articles/WebForms_LukeW.pdf

This is an in depth study done on the best practices for designing your forms. Basically, it goes over information like whether it’s best for form labels to be align on top of the form, to the left, or aligned right, etc. etc. Tons of valuable information on usability in regards to web forms.

Anyway, hope this information is useful to you. At least help ease the pain in creating web forms on your website. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I’m more than a Web Designer, I’m a Web Consultant!

Web Consultant's a Work

To understand what a Web Consultant does, we first have to be clear on what a consultant is. A consultant is generally someone (a professional) who specializes in a particular area. In most cases a consultant is someone who gets paid for their expertise and insight. Generally they’re highly trained and specialize in a particular field.

I consider myself a Web Consultant because I specialize in all major areas of the web. To be honest, I feel I’ve coined the term, but I don’t think I’ll get any credit for it (big smile). Back in the early 2000’s, I had the title Webmaster. But after realizing that I offered much more and did much more than just design and develop websites, I wanted a title with a much broader meaning. So I began to call myself a Web Consultant, hence the name ML Web Consulting (we do much more than just design pretty websites).

The reason why I’m writing on this topic is to explain the value of a Web Consultant and to bring some clarity to a growing trend. Web Designers, Graphic Designers, Webmasters and most Web Developers does so much more today. As a Web Consultant not only am I knowledgable in all major areas of the web (design, development, branding, marketing, research, analytics etc.) but I’m actually hands-on. Yes, I push pixels.

In addition to being passionate about web design (i.e. mocking up designs and hand-coding websites to final production) I also have an equal passion for internet marketing, optimizing websites for search engines, writing/blogging to create content for the search engines, interacting with the social community, creating/publishing videos, etc. I love doing this because it’s a part of the job. It’s added value to my customer or employer. These are techniques and tools that help build trust, grow incoming links and create brand awareness.

But as a Web Consultant, that’s not all I do…

I’m also passionate and absolutely love conceptualizing, brainstorming, creative thinking, photography, and brand development. It’s in my DNA!

The list goes on and on and on.

Yes, I consider myself an excellent Web Designer, but I like to think I bring much more to the table. I’m not saying all this to toot my own horn but simply to explain the value I bring to every project or organization I’m involved with.

If you’re a small business and are interested in increasing sales, improving your brand awareness and building stronger customer relationships, shoot me an email. I’d love to earn your business and help you grow.
